Founding Story
Lawlace was founded by Kristina Subbotina in 2023 when she left her big law job to become a venture investor. To be a great VC, you need to have a proprietary dealflow, in other words a superpower so founders will come to you among the first ten people who help them build their company. Entrepreneurs started coming to Kristina for legal help to avoid getting hit with big and unexpected big law bills. That's when it became clear-legal is a huge pain point for startup founders, and Lawlace was created to help alleviate that pain.
Lawlace quickly became a successful and rapidly growing law firm that attracted talented ex-big law associates united by the same mission-to democratize and demystify legal for startups. We use automation and AI to deliver high-quality legal services effectively. We also share legal tips on social media, so founders are aware of the most costly legal mistakes, and can prevent them from happening.
